Rene Travieso

Rene Travieso died Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Atrium Health Main, in Charlotte, NC.

Rene was born in Havana Cuba on January 8, 1955, the son of Raul Travieso and Clara deArmas Travieso. His family moved to the United States, and after living in New York and North Carolina, they settled in Boca Raton, Florida. Rene attended Boca Raton High School, and he received an Associates Degree in Drafting from Palm Beach Junior College. After college, he moved to Charlotte, NC with IBM where he met Michelle Bean. They married and lived in Charlotte, where they started their family.

Rene is predeceased by his father, Raul Travieso. He is survived by his three children Clara Travieso of Atlanta, John Travieso (Nicole) and Caroline Roten (Josh) of Charlotte, Michelle Bean of Mill Spring, as well his beloved granddaughter, Violet Travieso. He is also survived by his mother Clara Travieso of Boca Raton, and his brothers Raul Travieso (Lorraine) of Boca Raton and Ruben Travieso (Melissa) of Atlanta. Rene also had three brothers-in-law: John Bean, Mike Bean (Patricia), and David Bean (Jennifer) along with nieces and nephews he loved.

After leaving IBM/LexMark, Rene began his own business, RT Construction. He built an amazing client list of people who cared for him and appreciated his incredible perfectionism and attention to detail.

Rene was a kind and gentle person who loved to cook, water ski, snow ski, and play golf. He loved the beach and found a certain peace in the ocean.

Thank you to everyone who befriended, cared for, and loved Rene. We truly appreciate everything you did for him.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 10, 2019 at Myers Park Baptist Church.

    My heart goes out to your family during this time of sorrow. I will always remember July 4th, David and Rene sitting by the pool talking like old friends. His smile was infectious. In the days to follow may your memories bring you peace and comfort.
