Patricia Morris Hood

CHARLOTTE – Patricia Morris Hood died on September 13, 2026. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 19, 1936, to the late Katherine Hudson Morris and Oren Wilson Morris.

Pat attended Eastover Elementary School, Alexander Graham Junior High School and graduated in 1954 from Myers Park High School. She attended The Women’s College in Greensboro, North Carolina now UNCG.

She was a long-standing member of Christ Episcopal Church, a member of the Charlotte Assembly, The Ivy League Garden Club and the Best Friends Bridge Club. She was devoted to her family and friends.

Pat is survived by her husband of 63 years, John James Hood, Jr. (Jack). Her son John James Hood, III and his wife Diane Dear and her daughter Katherine Hood Fuller and her husband Rodger; her grandchildren Christopher Dear, Allie Dear, Ashley Dear Rivera, Adrian Rivera, Katherine Hudson Fuller (Katie), and Mary Louise Fuller.

She was preceded in death by her brother Oren Wilson Morris, Jr. and his wife Donna Kiser Morris.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Christ Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the Blue Room.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 1412 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28207.

    To the family of Mrs. Pat Hood,
    My deepest condolences and sincere prayers for your loss. Unfortunately I've been on medical leave and I was just told today by a co worker that she had passed. Breaks my heart we had just talked late last month and I was to visit but been sick. I thought I had more time ? Ms Pat was such a dear heart and light to the world. She wasn't just a Brookdale resident but my friend and when she moved from Brookdale I've missed her so much. We enjoyed so many heartfelt conversations and fellowship. Love for Cardinals (I painted one for her) and coke cola. I'm so sorry I missed her services. May the Lord comfort, carry and strengthen Jack, the family and loved ones. ???

Pat and Jack both were close friends of my mother, Christine S Wellons - so many special memories shared other the years with both Pat and Jack Hood will be cherished for years to come.
