CHARLOTTE- Janet Keever Caudell awakened fully in the presence of her Savior on Thursday, September 10, 2026. Born June 14,1931 into the home of Leroy Monroe Keever and Janet Powers Keever, Janet grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, along with her two brothers, Joseph and Leroy, Jr. She graduated from Broughton High School in 1949 and East Carolina State University in 1953,
and became an elementary school teacher. Her career as public school teacher began at Long Creek Elementary, in the Charlotte area, and ended with retirement at Pineville Elementary,

She married Joseph Lee Caudell of Charlotte, NC on June 12, 1960, and became a portrait of kindness and support to children and adults alike. She kept track of her students and families

and encouraging them in ways that shaped their lives.

Janet was a devout Christian. She was an ardent student of the Bible, with great respect for scriptural integrity, righteous living, and walking with Christ. Her life of service, in addition to public education, included faithful service to her church, leading children’s choirs at First Baptist Church, Charlotte. She had a reputation for producing excellent singers in her choirs.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy Monroe Keever, Sr. and Janet Powers Keever; her brothers, Joseph Monroe Keever and Leroy Monroe Keever, Jr.; her sister-in-law, Suzanne Keever; and Michael Gibson, son of Joseph and Suzanne Keever.

Janet is survived by her husband, Joseph Lee Caudell; her nieces and nephews, Sheila Moore (Glynn), Susan Borgesi (Robert), David Keever, Daniel Keever (Mandy), Catherine Triplett, Gregory M. Keever (Teresa), Edward B. Keever (Debra), and Kenneth E. Keever.

She is also survived by great nieces and great nephews, Maya Borgesi and Pace Borgesi, children of Susan and Robert Borgesi; Elliott Keever and Charlie Matice, children of David Keever; Falon Foreman, Jordan Perili, and Danielle Keever, children of Daniel and Mandy Keever; Christopher Triplett, son of Catherine Triplett; Gregory Keever, Jr., Natalie Roberts, Andrea Davis, Kevin Keever, and John Keever, children of Gregory and Teresa Keever; Whitney Keever and Allison Keever, children of Edward and Debra Keever; and Karianna Keever, Kaylah Keever, Austin Keever, and Brian Keever, children of Kenneth E. Keever.

Funeral arrangements include a visitation time at 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm, on Tuesday, September 15, in the chapel at Calvary Church, 5801 Pineville-Matthews Rd. in Charlotte. An interment will follow the service in the Magnolia Memorial Gardens on the Calvary Church campus.
