Denise Fellos

CHARLOTTE – Denise Fellos, 70, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of Thursday, July 30, 2026, leaving her family, friends, and all who knew her heartbroken. While her passing was sudden, the love and kindness she shared throughout her life will always endure.

Born on May 8, 1956, Denise grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she developed the compassionate spirit, boundless energy, and genuine kindness that would define her throughout her life.

Denise enjoyed a career as a real estate paralegal and later found joy in providing concierge services, caring for homes and pets with the same dependability and kindness for which she was known.

Denise never met a stranger.  She had an enormous heart and a remarkable gift for making people feel loved, welcomed, and cared for.  Whether offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or words of encouragement, she was always there for anyone in need.  Her generosity and selflessness touched countless lives, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.

Her greatest joys were her family, her treasured friends, and her beloved dogs.  She nurtured lifelong friendships built on loyalty, laughter, and unconditional love.  Denise embraced life with enthusiasm and optimism, bringing warmth, laughter, and an unforgettable personality wherever she went.

Denise also had a special love for Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and especially loved being involved each year with the Yiasou Greek Festival.  It was an event she embraced with the same energy, warmth, and generous spirit she brought to everything she did. Her involvement with the festival reflected so much of who Denise was—someone who loved people, treasured community, and was always willing to lend a hand and be part of bringing others together.

Denise is survived by her siblings, Pam Fellos Cook, Stephanie Fellos Holleman, Peter Thomas Fellos, and Zoe Fellos Bell, as well as her extended family and the many cherished friends whose lives were made richer by knowing and loving her.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Fellos Young, and her parents, Steve Pete Fellos and Tula Cavalaris Fellos.

Denise's legacy is one of kindness, generosity, unwavering friendship, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a world made brighter by her presence and countless human and dog lives forever changed by her compassion.  Her sudden passing leaves an ache in the hearts of all who loved her, but there is comfort in the promise of eternal life and the knowledge that Denise is now at peace with the Lord.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral.  The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 11:30 AM until the time of the service.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.  Due to time constraints, the family will be unable to receive friends after the funeral service at the church.  The service will be livestreamed through the church's YouTube page at: https://www.youtube.com/@HolyTrinityCathedralCharlotte for those unable to attend in person.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered in memory of Denise to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 600 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203 or the Humane Society of Charlotte, 1348 Parker Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208.

    We met Denise eleven years ago — a fact I know exactly, because our dog Tucker is eleven and a half. A neighbor told us she was the best in Charlotte at caring for a dog, and she was right. Denise adored our dog and our dog adored her. What we didn’t know then was how much more Denise would become to us. She was there as our children were born, and every year after, she’d light up watching them grow. She loved Tucker, and she loved our family, and we loved those visits from sweet Denise — Tucker was almost the excuse. Denise left us too soon, and we’ll carry her with us. God bless her.

    I was fortunate be in school with Denise in junior high and high school. I fondly remember of her as a person who was pure ray of sunshine and joy. It seemed as if she had kind word for everyone. No matter where you were in the social pecking order, you would not be invisible if Denise was around. She celebrated the worth and value of the people she encountered, which was something that made her a truly special person. We are all better people for having known her.     Denise’s untimely passing is still a shock to me. There has never been a nicer, kinder, happier soul and she will so deeply missed by so many. Wish I could be at her memorial in person to honor such a wonderful person. So glad I knew her. ?

    I was so sad to hear the news about Denise‘s passing. She was always a bright light, and I saw her at least once a week in a local restaurant and she always had a smile on her face. you just have to put it in God‘s hands and not try to understand why we leave this earth so early.

    My thoughts and prayers go out to her loving family . What a beautiful soul Denise had. She would light up a room. I met Denise at the Register of Deeds in the early 80’s when I added title searching to my paralegal career and she was always there along with Lynn to answer any of my questions as I began to navigate through the in and outs of title searching The old days at the Register of Deeds were the best. Her love for people and her love for animals was in her heart.
