William Angelo Primos III
March 27, 2026
CHARLOTTE – William Angelo Primos III, age 28, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026. He was surrounded by his loving family, after bravely fighting for two weeks following a traumatic brain injury sustained when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Charlotte, NC.
Will was born in Charlotte, NC on February 2, 1998, the firstborn son of William (“Bill”) and Genevieve Primos. He became a big brother to Julia soon after, a role he embraced with pride and playful mischief. From a young age, Will was endlessly curious, smart, and funny. Loyalty, family traditions, and faithfulness to those close to him defined his character, even as a child.
The family moved to Johns Creek, GA in 2008, where Will attended Perimeter Christian School and later graduated from Greater Atlanta Christian School in 2016. He was an honor student, a gifted athlete in tennis and track, and was elected Vice President of the senior class cabinet. Will attended the University of Mississippi, where he joined Phi Delta Theta fraternity, participated in intramural sports and played on the varsity E-Sports team. He graduated in 2020 with a degree in Finance. In 2021, Will moved to Jacksonville, Florida to pursue a career in finance with Ernst and Young. Will was approaching his 5-year anniversary with EY and was a Senior Analyst in the Tax Services Division.
Will’s curiosity, intelligence, and love for adventure were evident throughout his life. He was witty, passionate, and full of life, with a gift for friendly debate that made every conversation lively. Will was the “life of the party” and could often be found singing karaoke or dancing – often joyfully, sometimes hilariously. Above all, loyalty defined him – he remained steadfast to his family and friends through every stage of life, forming enduring relationships that spanned years and decades.
Will loved sports and cheered passionately for the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Braves, and Ole Miss Rebels. He inherited a love of water from his family and helped to create many fun memories at their Lake Tillery home. Throughout his life, he enjoyed tubing, wakeboarding, swimming, or simply cruising, and was an active member of his Jacksonville boat club. Will also had a passion for history, science fiction, music, video games, rec league soccer, and all professional sports. He proudly served as commissioner of his fantasy football league for over a decade. He will always be remembered for bringing his friends and family together through camaraderie and sport.
In 2023, Will adopted his Double Doodle pup, Chuck (named after his beloved grandfather), who became his faithful friend and constant companion. Chuck was often co-captaining Will’s boating excursions or acting as his wingman on the beach or at local breweries. In the days before Will’s passing, Chuck visited him at the hospital, quietly lying by his side – a testament to their special bond.
Will is survived by his parents, William and Genevieve Primos; his sister, Julia Galbreath, and her husband, Blaine Galbreath; his grandmothers, Marcia Coombs Fowler and Mary Jane Primos; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were like family; and his beloved dog, Chuck. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Charles Palmer Coombs and William Angelo Primos, Sr.
We are so incredibly grateful for the prayers, support and love from our family, friends, church, work colleagues, neighbors, and community during this difficult time. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, residents, and staff at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center Surgical Trauma ICU, for their extraordinary compassion and care for Will after his accident.
Even in the midst of this unimaginable heartbreak, we are grateful that Will was able to give the gift of life through organ donation. His heart and other vital organs were transplanted, bringing hope and healing to four people. This final act of generosity reflects the kind of person Will has always been – loving, brave, and full of life.
As a family of faith, we are comforted in knowing that Will is now fully at peace, whole, and in the loving presence of Jesus Christ. We hold fast to the hope and promise that because of Christ, this is not goodbye forever – we will see him again.
Will’s private family burial will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, in Charlotte, NC. His Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 9, 2026, in the Cecil B. Day Chapel of Perimeter Church, 9500 Medlock Bridge Rd, Johns Creek, GA, followed by a reception in the Ministry Center. The service will be livestreamed through the church's YouTube page at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6ATgGIk1q6QRwOqIq8M0ow for those unable to attend in person.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Will’s honor may be made to: LifeShare Carolinas – supporting organ donation to give hope and life to those in need; Reformed Theological Seminary – supporting the theological education and spiritual formation of future church leaders; Piper G. Amundson Foundation – supporting creation of a pediatric hospice house in Charlotte.
Arrangements are in the care of Kenneth W. Poe Funeral & Cremation Service, 1321 Berkeley Ave., Charlotte, NC 28204; (704) 641-7606. Online condolences may be shared at www.kennethpoeservices.com.

Dear Genevieve and Bill, I am so terribly sorry to hear of the loss of your dear son William. I know we only met once but felt compelled to reach out to you both in your time of grief and heartache. I lost my dear son Ryan similarly with a traumatic brain injury. There is no greater pain a parent can experience than the loss of a child. May God‘s love and light Shine down on you both and your entire family. If there’s anything I could ever do to ease your pain, even for a moment, please don’t hesitate to reach out. My heart is broken for you. I know no words will ease your pain. Try to remember the years that you had with him and cherish those and hold those tight. Because those memories will sustain you in your times of despair. God bless you both. Please accept my sincere condolences Ron.

Genevieve, Bill, and Julia - our hearts are breaking for you. We enjoyed Will and your whole family while we had the wonderful opportunity to become great friends during your time at GACS. One of our fondest memories of Will was at Lake Tillery when you invited us to stay with you and enjoy the water sports - even learning to surf. Julia and Will were so close - she would refer to him as "brother." We made ice cream that weekend, spent hours on the boat, and thoroughly enjoyed all the kids. We are praying for you.

Genevieve, Bill, Julia, Marcia, David, and all who loved Will, we love you and pray that the best memories lift you up when sorrow challenges you. What a wonderful act of love-donating to four other lives so that they may live to see more days. We are confident that his grandfathers Chuck, and William welcomed him with open arms. May you continue to feel the love from all who know you.
