Susan Jamie Robinson
February 14, 2026
Susan Jamie Robinson, age 72, of Cornelius, North Carolina, entered into the presence of the Lord in Heaven, her eternal resting place, on February 14, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina, following a brief illness. Susan was a devoted Christian and a strong believer in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour. She believed deeply in God’s promises and held an unshakable hope of eternal life; One in which we can all be confident she is now dancing and singing in the presence of the Lord in Heaven.
Susan was born on March 31, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Wilma Kathleen Boehm (Hall) and James Richard Boehm. She spent her early years in Florence, Alabama, where she graduated from Bradshaw High School. During her school years, Susan was actively involved in the Les Petites club. She later attended Florence State College and the University of Alabama. Susan and her family lived in several places including Nashville and Memphis, TN, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Cornelius, NC. Wherever she lived, Susan built lasting friendships and cherished memories as family and friends were her greatest treasure.
On Valentine’s Day, Susan married the love of her life, Walter “Walt” Robinson, and together they shared a 45-year love story filled with devotion, adventure, and fun. Fittingly, their song, “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You,” as sung by Elvis Presley—perfectly captured the romance and deep bond they shared.
Known as a true “life of the party,” Susan brought laughter, light, and joy into every room. She loved line dancing –- where she was a member of a line dancing team that participated in the State of North Carolina Senior Line Dancing competition, tennis, and softball, where she met her future husband. Music was one of her greatest passions; she loved listening to and singing songs of all genres, which filled the air with laughter and fun. Evenings by the fire pit, riding her electric bike, girls’ trips, and beach days with family were among some of her greatest pleasures. But above all else, Susan adored being “Mimi.” Playing with her three granddaughters, laughing with them, and creating memories brought her endless happiness.
Susan will be remembered as a bright light, a true original, and the ultimate fun-maker. She was funny, encouraging, supportive, and endlessly joyful. She had the rare gift of making everyone feel welcome, loved, and important. She was the Fun Mom, the Fun Aunt, and the ultimate “Hostess with the Mostess”—the one who turned ordinary gatherings into unforgettable celebrations.
She is joyfully remembered by her beloved husband, Walt Robinson; her daughter, Jamie Sanderson, and son-in-law, Daniel Sanderson, of Charlotte, North Carolina; her brother, Richard Boehm, and sister-in-law, Judy Boehm, of Farragut, Tennessee; her sister, Linda Carrier, and brother-in-law, Lee Carrier, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; and her cherished grandchildren, Parker, Brooke, and Morgan Sanderson, who were the sunshine of her life.
Susan’s legacy of love, laughter, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A Celebration of Life honoring Susan will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Rooster’s Green Room in SouthPark located at 6601 Carnegie Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28211. Family and friends are invited to come together to share stories, laughter, music, and memories – just as Susan would have wanted.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Community Pregnancy Center of Lake Norman at 212 Caldwell Avenue, Mooresville, NC 28115.
