Margaret Elizabeth Melaugh, known to all as “Peg,” passed away on February 5, 2026, at her home in Charlotte, NC, at the age of 75. She was surrounded by family and friends at the time of her passing.

Born on August 28, 1950, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late James Raymond Melaugh and Elizabeth Wilhelmina Starke. Peg graduated from Lincoln High School and attended college.

Peg was a retired Office Manager for SEPTA in Pennsylvania. She was also a former co-owner of Kidz Play Here, a child care center. Prior to moving to Charlotte in 2005 to be closer to her grandchildren, she resided in Wildwood, NJ.

A resident of The Village on Morehead, Peg was an active crafter and an avid gardener. She found her greatest joy in her family and was most often found spending time with her grandchildren or her dog, Baxter.

She is survived by her only child, Thomas Michael Anderson Jr., and his wife, Christina; four grandchildren, Azlynn, Thomas, Aliza, and James Anderson; and her two brothers, Jerry and Jim Melaugh. She is also survived by 4 nieces and nephews, including her niece, Lisa Visalli. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Johnson and her 2 sons.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Peg’s friends and caregivers who surrounded her with love, companionship, and support during her final months.

Peg’s memorial service will be held at The Village on Morehead at 2:30 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to CVAN or a charity of your choice.
