Rilla Gail Morgan, 73, of Charlotte, NC, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, September 27, 2025.

Born on November 11, 1951, in China Grove, Rilla was the daughter of the late Charlie Morgan and Lucile Bost Morgan. She was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Morgan Allen, and a nephew, Morgan Neil Allen.

Rilla began her academic journey at Appalachian State University, earning a degree in Education. After teaching for several years, she recognized a different professional calling and pursued a second degree from North Carolina State University in Math/Computer Science. This led to a successful career as an IT professional at both Duke Energy and Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools. Rilla chose to retire early to dedicate time to caring for her parents.

Rilla leaves behind a devoted circle of friends, as well as her beloved cat, Harry.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in Rilla's memory.
