Nicos Dimitriou

DAVIDSON –Nicos Dimitriou, 91, of Davidson, NC passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

Nicos was born in the village of Mavrochori in Kastoria, Greece.  Growing up, he supported his family on their farm.  He immigrated to the United States in 1955 and became a furrier, opened his own business and retired in 2010.  Nicos was a truly social and friendly individual, finding joy in gathering with friends and family for spirited card games, good food and lively dance events.

Nicos was a dedicated member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral who loved volunteering at the annual Yiasou Greek Festival and was a proud member of AHEPA for over 40 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carol; his sons, Thomas Dimitriou and Nicholas Dimitriou; his daughter, Anastasia Lucchese and her husband, Ben Lucchese; grandchildren, Alex Lucchese, Joseph Lucchese and Madelyne Diaz and her husband, Jake and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral.  The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service at the church.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered in memory of Nicos to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 600 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.

Please accept my sincerest condolences on your loss, I wish I had the words to ease your pain at this time but as I have learned only time will help you through your grief. I would just like to say that I will keep you Anastasia, Tom and Nicholas in my prayers and hope that you realize that Mr. Dimitriou is now in a much better place with no pain or suffering.
    I would also like to say that even though your husband and father is no longer with us physically on this earth he will live on with you in your hearts and memories.
