Eleanor Kathryn “Nora” Huff

May 15, 2025
CHARLOTTE - Eleanor Kathryn “Nora” Huff, precious daughter of Meghan and David Huff, passed peacefully from this earth on May 15, 2025 at Levine Children’s Hospital. After bravely facing a diagnosis of Leukemia in addition to a rare genetic condition, USP9X syndrome, Nora was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her death. Nora was born on August 3, 2022. Her strong spirit was immediately evident and an inspiration to many.
Throughout her life, Nora brought joy to all who knew her. She had radiant blue eyes, bouncy blonde curls, and was a shining light, especially when she’d share one of her toothy grins. Nora loved being around people, particularly her family, playing outside with chalk and bubbles, going for walks in the neighborhood and pretending with her ice cream cart and tea set. She gave the best hugs and snuggles.
She is survived by her parents, Meghan and David Huff, her big sister, Nellie and her grandparents: Joan (Jojo) and Robert (Bobby) Sweeney, Kathy (Nana) Smith and Steve (Papa) Huff, all of Charlotte, NC. In addition, her memory will be carried by her loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church (3016 Providence Rd, Charlotte, NC, 28211) followed by a reception at Legion Brewing South Park (5610 Carnegie Blvd, Charlotte, NC, 28209). We ask that attendees wear light/bright colors to honor Nora’s spirit.

Dear Megan, David, and Nellie,
We are so sorry for your loss. Please know we have been praying for Nora since we heard of her diagnosis and we will continue to pray for your family. Bob showed me a video of little Nora in the hospital when I saw him in Winston Salem recently. I could see the joy little Nora carried with her and her sweet spirit. What an amazing child you raised. Love to your family -
Nora will be missed, but her memory will live on. I'm very grateful I got the chance to briefly know her, and to feel inspired by her journey through life. My deepest condolences to her family, and my heartfelt love to all of you who knew her and feel the sadness of her loss.
Meghan and David, you're heavy on my heart, as is the entire Huff family and the Sweeneys. I'm praying for all of you in this unfathomably hard time. -
Our hearts are deeply grieved by the loss of precious Nora. Though her time on this earth was brief, her life was a beautiful gift from God—full of light, joy, and love. We take comfort in knowing that she is now in the arms of our Heavenly Father, where there is no pain, only peace.
To my dear sister Megan and brother-in-law David—may the Lord surround you with His unending love and strength. We are praying that God’s grace carries you through this time of sorrow, and that you feel His presence holding you close. Nora’s spirit will forever live on in our hearts, and her memory will be a blessing to us all.
Love RJ, Kaitlin, Everly and Rosie
