Frances Hoover Knell

With loving memories, we announce that on her appointed date of May 13, 2025, the Lord peacefully welcomed Frances Hoover Knell to her heavenly home. Born on January 27, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Walter Thomas Hoover and Katherine Hoover Carroll.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donald Knell; her infant son, John Frederick; and her brother, Walter Thomas Hoover, Jr.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. A faithful servant of God, she was a very active and dedicated member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church, where she served as a deacon, treasurer, teacher, and on numerous committees. She retired from Bradford Sales Company after 34 years of service.

She is survived by her sons, Donald T. Knell (Marty) and Jeffrey H. Knell (Kim); and her daughter, Jeannie K. Perez (Jose). Grandchildren: Matthew (Karlin), Jennifer (Luke), Brandi, Nathan (Kate), Catherine, Cameron (Jade), and Sunny (Isaac); and 12 great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest blessing here on earth and remains her lasting legacy.

The family will receive friends at Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM. A memorial service to celebrate Frances’ life will follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private prior to the memorial service at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church, 1117 South Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203.
