I am so saddened to find Dr.Jay's obit just this morning, Holy Saturday. I received a card back in the mail on Holy Thursday that I had mailed in January, a little over 3 months ago. Words cannot express my sorrow. He was a benefactor to us at St. Martins in Flaherty where his ggg grandmother, Grace is buried. My husband, Joe and I were privileged to have him visit us here in Flaherty a couple times. He has been on my mind a lot lately. My sincere condolences to his children and to other extended family. He was a special person. Many loved ones there to greet him on March 18 in heaven.

To Mr. Whelan's sister Nadine Kaelin, my sister (Janice Bandy Johnson) and myself were sadden to hear of your brothers passing. Although we were not able to attend his funeral services we both have fond memories of our "next door" neighbors on Ralph Avenue. I can still remember seeing his light on late at night as we were going to bed. We knew he was studying as usual. We were so young then and could not imagine anyone doing that much reading. Our childhood was so wonderful thanks in part to having you guys next door. Janice would love to reach out and talk to you. (614-288-5561) Reynoldsburg, Ohio
I am very sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Juanita (502-553-2986)
