Anthoula Christou Tatsis

CHARLOTTE – Anthoula Christou Tatsis fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 15, 1942, in Xioniathes, Epirus, Greece. Along with her husband Nick and their children, she immigrated to the United States in 1969 and settled in Charlotte, NC.
Anthoula worked at Jack’s Cookie Company for several years. She later operated Deli City with her husband Nick until his retirement. She then worked at the McKee Road Elementary School cafeteria where she enjoyed spending time with the students.
Anthoula was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral and worked with the Ladies Philoptochos preparing pastries for the annual Yiasou Greek Festival. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a great friend to many. Anthoula never met a stranger and was always willing to help others. She always greeted you with a hug and warm smile. Anthoula was an amazing cook, loved flowers and enjoyed time spent at the beach. She treasured time with family and friends.
Anthoula is survived by her son, Mike Tatsis; grandson, Elias Stergiou and his wife, Alexis; great-grandson, George Stergiou; her sister, Agleia Exarchon; brother, Panagiotis Christou and his wife, Toula of Greece; son-in-law, George Stergiou; sisters-in-law, Antonia Tatsis of Charlotte and Evthokia Siosos of Greece; brothers-in-law, Tasos Tatsis, Angelo Tatsis and his wife, Avgoula all of Charlotte and Rev. Dionysios Tatsis and his Presbytera Marianthi of Greece, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Nick Tatsis; her parents, Thomas and Eleftheria Christou; her loving daughter, Vivian Tatsis Stergiou; brothers, Apostolis and Vangelis Christou; brothers-in-law, Peter D. Tatsis and Kostas Exarchon and sister-in-law, Sophia Tatsis.
The funeral service will take place at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made offered in memory of Anthoula to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Attn: Altar Fund, 600 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.
