CHARLOTTE – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Samuel Roland Buxton III on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the age of 76 in Charlotte, NC.

Sam was born January 23, 1948, in New Port News, Va.  The only son of Judge Samuel R. Buxton, Jr. and Ann Parker Buxton and brother to Mollie and Liza.

Sam is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cindy; his son, Bo (Shawn) and his daughter Laura, as well as his twin grandsons, Zach and Ethan. 

He was best known for his sense of humor, his southern hospitality, and his love of family. We will miss him cheering on his beloved Tar Heels from his favorite chair. He was a neighbor, friend, father, grandfather and devoted husband. 

He is missed beyond measure.
