Pamela Junita Angulo

June 7, 2026

CHARLOTTE – Pamela Junita Angulo passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the age of 72, after a long and courageous battle with Myelofibrosis.

Born on March 29,1954, in Louisville, Kentucky as the second of eight children and the eldest daughter of Sylvia Jean Clay and the late Clifton Eugene Lewis, Pamela grew up quick by taking on the responsibilities of caring for her younger sisters.  From doing their hair and getting their clothes ready for school to making sure they had something to eat for dinner when their parents had to work those long and hard hours.  Due to her demeanor of someone well beyond her age, she tended to associate herself with the older crowds at school.  An avid student and popular, in her own right, she graduated from Shawnee High School in 1973.

On January 21,1975, she gave birth to her first of two sons, Larry Eugene Lewis, whom she always credited as the catalyst for her decision to pursue a profession in technology, due to his deep knowledge of computers, which he learned at a young age.  Motivated by wanting to provide the best for her newborn and realizing the many doors further education could open, she attended Sullivan Business College and attained an Associate’s Degree in Management of Information Systems.

In 1986, she moved to Charlotte, NC where she met her soon-to-be husband; it was love at first sight.  Their connection was powerfully magnetic and soon after they were married on November 8,1986.   A few years later, she gave birth to her second son, Fidel U. Angulo, on April 2,1990.  From the time she arrived in Charlotte, NC, she began a long and rewarding career working her way up into different roles within the banking industry.  She worked for firms like Nation’s Bank, First Union, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo for over 15 years as a Project Manager and Business Systems Analyst while also having worked at Duke Energy and U.S. Bank for short periods of time.  Pamela was proud to be one of the first employees at First Union to have used a personal computer during the digital revolution, an ahead-of-the-curb move which she greatly attributed to her professional success in the business world.  Throughout her years of employment, she received both her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration in 2007 as well as her Master of Business Administration in 2021 from Capella University.

Within her family and circle of close friends, Pamela had always been looked up to and often considered a voice of reasoning and comfort for anyone who was going through something difficult in their life.  She was a devoted cat mom, a stellar cook, an exceptional gardener, a sharp dresser with exquisite taste, a constant student of world history, a vocal advocate for equality and women’s rights, a passionate sports fanatic, and of course an extremely loyal fan of The University of Louisville Cardinals.

She is survived by her husband, Fidel A. Angulo; her son, Fidel U. Angulo; her mother, Sylvia Jean Clay; her brother, Keith Lewis; her sisters, Wendy Lewis-Mueller, Fanci Thomas, Lisa Webber, Stacey Tipton, Kenya Clay, and Kulana Granson, as well as her many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 22, 2026, in the Belk Chapel at Queens University, 2287 Radcliffe Ave, Charlotte, NC.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care of Kenneth W. Poe Funeral & Cremation Service, 1321 Berkeley Ave., Charlotte, NC 28204; (704) 641-7606.  Online condolences may be shared at www.kennethpoeservices.com.
