CHARLOTTE – Steffani Therese Shefte, 62, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.  Born in Tacoma, Washington, on a crisp fall day—September 24, 1962—her family moved to Birchwood Village on White Bear Lake in Minnesota.

She had a deep love for gardening, flowers, and being outside in the quiet of a beautiful spring morning.  Her yard was always in bloom, and her heart seemed to grow right along with it—full of life, patience, and gentle care.  She saw beauty in the small things and helped others see it, too.

Her family was her greatest joy, and she gave them all the love she had—unconditionally, every single day.  Those who knew Steffani will remember her big heart, her calm and loving presence, her laughter, and the way she always made space for others.  Whether she was sharing a cup of coffee on the porch, planting something new in the garden, or simply listening when you needed her—she made everyone feel at home. Steff brought light, warmth, and beauty to the world around her, much like the flowers she so lovingly tended.

Steffani is survived by her devoted husband, John Dalbert Shefte; her children, Kyle Allen Voigt, Nicole Jean Chase, Brittany Ann Nguyen and her husband, Dominick, and Tyler Charles Chase and his wife, Virginia. She was the proud grandmother of Kristina, Caytlin, and Tallulah Voigt; Aleana and Jordan Nguyen; and Lucas Chase, Abigail Chase, Liam Chase, and Landon Toothaker.  And, of course, her constant K-9 companions, Molly and Mindy.

A private memorial is planned to honor her life.

In place of flowers, the family asks that you plant something in her memory or make a donation to your local animal shelter—just as she would have wanted.

Steffani’s love will live on in every blooming flower, every soft breeze of spring, and in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her. She was truly one of a kind—and she will be dearly missed, more than words can say.
