Mildred "Mickie" Hood Bost

CHARLOTTE - Mildred Hood Bost, 96, died December 6, 2018 at Sharon Towers. A Charlotte native, Mickie was born October 10, 1922, daughter of the late Harold Lee Phillips and Ruth DeArmon Phillips. She attended UNC Greensboro and Queens College and was a long-time member of Myers Park United Methodist Church. She loved playing golf at Carmel Country Club and enjoyed her more than fifty-year affiliation with her bridge club.

On January 23, 1943, Mickie married David L. Hood who would precede her in death in 1975. She was also predeceased by her second husband, Cot Bost and a grandson, Hoge Ronemus.

“JJ”, as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren, is survived by her daughter, Millie Ronemus and her husband, Bill; sons, Chuck Hood and his wife, Beth and Johnny Hood and his wife, Kathy. Also surviving are Steve Bost, Suzanne Carr and her husband, Tom and Jimmy Bost and his wife, Laura; grandchildren, Missy Wyrick and her husband, Tim, Richard Ronemus and his wife, Kate, David Hood III and his wife, Lissa, Sammy Hood and his wife, Jane, John David Hood, Kevin Cleaves, Michael Cleaves and his wife, Becky, Carlton Bost, Karen Greene and her husband, Michael and Stuart Bost and his wife, Meredith, as well as many, many great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Ruthlee Orr and her husband, Glenn; and brother, Bud Phillips and his wife, Martha.

The family would like to thank Paige Hefner and all the staff of Sharon Towers for their loving care of Mrs. Bost.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Sharon Memorial Park with the Rev. Bill Roth officiating.

    My sincerest and deepest condolences to the Hood Family. I know how strong Mrs Bost was for all of you and now its time for you to be strong for her and know that she's looking down on all of you and is at peace knowing that all of you will be OK.
