CHARLOTTE -  Nancy Blanton Brooks 91, passed away on October 4, 2018 at Sharon Towers.   A native Charlottean, she was born February 3,1927, daughter of the late, William and Lois Blanton. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Bob Brooks.

Nancy was a graduate of Central High School and Queens College, majoring in music. She was a lifetime member of Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church where she was baptized and married. She was a member of The Walter J. Miller Sunday School Class. Both this class and her church were very dear to her heart.

Nancy gave private piano lessons and taught voice at Sacred Heart College.  She was the piano accompanist for several Sunday School classes, an occasional church organist and taught choral and instrumental music in the Charlotte - Mecklenburg school system.

A devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be remembered for being a very sweet and kind lady ,who put others first.

Nancy is survived by daughters, Anne Mulholland and her husband, Matt and Susan McCann and her husband, Bob; grandchildren, Allyson Martin, Michael Martin, Catherine M. Skipper and her husband, Micah, Elizabeth Bell and her husband, Frazier, and Caroline Sansotta and her husband, Dominic; and brother, William Blanton of High Point, NC.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Sharon Memorial Park.
