Barbara Fowler Russell

CHARLOTTE – Barbara Fowler Russell, 70, of Charlotte, died May 24, 2018 at Novant Health Presbyterian.  Barbara was born in Charlotte on December 30, 1947, daughter of William and Catherine Martin Fowler.  She graduated from East Mecklenburg High School and worked as the Manager of K&A Office Products and as Administrative Assistant at Fowler’s Office Products.

Barbara loved the beach, fishing and trips in her camper.  She had a wonderful affinity for helping animals that had been neglected and was the happy owner of four rescue cats, including Cinder, Abby, Midnight and Molly.  Barbara was a member of Providence United Methodist Church.

 In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Lanny Russell.  She is survived by three siblings, Bill Fowler and his spouse, Ginny, Martin Fowler and his spouse, Clyde Zuber, and John Fowler and his spouse, Elizabeth; three nieces, Kelly Lamb, Amy Johnson and Cat Sweetland; two nephews, Phillip Fowler and Stephen Fowler; and special friends in her life, Daniel Ray Dowell and Mark Phinny.

A service to celebrate the life of Barbara Russell will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in the chapel of Providence United Methodist Church.  Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.

    Condolences to Barbara’s family. She lived across the street from me in high school on Coventry Road. I remember her fondly. Rest peacefully friend.
