Ruby Mae Sears

Ruby Mae Sears, 78, of Rockwell, NC died Friday, October 27, 2017, at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury, NC. She was born November 17, 1938 in Carl, West Virginia, daughter of the late Albin and Maude Hellems. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook. Ruby enjoyed having friends and family stop by and visit for coffee and sweets. She always made everyone feel as if they were family.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was predeceased by her husband, James “Randolph” Sears; brothers, Harry and Robert Lee Hellems; sisters, Martha Brown and Opal Walton; step-son, Dennis Sears and step-daughter, Carol Sears.

Survivors include her sons, Scott Hellems and wife, Cindy of Rockwell, NC and Wesley Sears and wife, Casey of Pt. Pleasant, WV; brother, Clell Hellems of Circleville, OH; sister, Alta Bays of Cumming, GA; step-daughters, Debbie Shifflett and husband, Tim and Teresa Hogan and husband, Billy all of Buena Vista, VA and grandchildren, Jessica Hellems of China Grove, NC, Carly Nott and Cameron Nott both of Pt. Pleasant, WV and Logan Sears of Pt. Pleasant, WV.

Funeral service for Mrs. Sears will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Spruce Grove United Methodist Church, Mt. Nebo, WV. Interment is in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the Donor’s Choice.

    Scott and Wesley your mom has always been like a big sister to me . She has been part of my life almost my whole life . I didn't know she was so sick . I hope she didn't suffer . My thoughts and prayers are with each of you and your families .
