Betty Blackwelder Cashion

CHARLOTTE – Betty Blackwelder Cashion, 95, passed away peacefully Monday, March 18, 2024. 

Betty was born April 13, 1928 in Miami, Florida, a daughter of the late Marshall Blackwelder and Rachel Fink Blackwelder, descended on both sides from the original 18th century German settlers of Cabarrus. She lived and worked in Charlotte from the age of 12 and was a long-time accountant at Southern Engineering, even being called back to work after her first retirement.

She was a devoted member of Central Methodist Church in Mooresville.

In addition to her parents, Betty was was predeceased by her husband Billy Hipp Cashion, her daughter Nancy Cashion Sablich and her three older siblings.

Betty is survived by two grandchildren: Michael and Stephanie Sablich of Charlotte.

A graveside service for Betty will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Sharon Memorial Park..

    I worked with Betty at Southern Engineering in the late 80’s. She was a fantastic person and was very fun to be around. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.
