Ernest Clinton Creech, Jr.

February 28, 2024

CHARLOTTE - On Wednesday morning, February 28, 2024, Ernie Clinton Creech, Jr., 73, of Charlotte, was finally able to hear the words, "Well done my good and faithful servant" as he was welcomed into the arms of his Savior.

Ernie was born September 4, 1950, in Charlotte, and was a life-long resident of a place he was proud to call home. After graduating from Harding High School in 1968, Ernie began his career in the carpet business. He then went on to successfully grow Conder Flag Company from his father-in-law’s small corner store into an industry leader known throughout and beyond the Carolinas. He was a founding member of the NIFDA (National Independent Flag Dealers Association) Organization in the flag industry.   Creech’s work through Conder Flag brought great acclaim to his Charlotte home and his business was recently honored when they received the 2023 Small Business of the Year through CRVA (Charlotte Regional Visitors Association).

A faithful member of Calvary Church, Ernie served with the Hearts and Hammers care team. His warmth, generosity, and unwavering love touched the lives of all fortunate to know him. In recent years he enjoyed being a part of the NC Golf Panel. Ernie leaves behind a legacy of compassion, integrity, and a profound commitment to family. He lived his life to the fullest, living each day with passion, drive, and an unwavering desire to better the lives of those around him and those who were blessed to have known him.

Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Elaine Conder Creech; his two children, Chad Creech (Kim) of Hampstead, NC, Keri Miller (Rick) of Wake Forest, NC; and his three grandchildren, Cameron Creech, Carson Miller, and Aidan Miller.

A special thank you to the sweet team of ladies who cared for Ernie during his final days: Nurse Keri, Ms. Sharon, and Dianne.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Calvary Church’s, “Reach Welcome and Grow” fund, or VIA Hospice - Charlotte.

A celebration of life service is planned for Monday, March 4, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Church (Main Sanctuary).

Arrangements are in the care of Kenneth W. Poe Funeral & Cremation Service, 1321 Berkeley Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28204 (704) 641-7606. Online condolences can be shared at www.kennethpoeservices.com.

    Elaine Chad and Keri:
We were so heartbroken when we heard of Ernie's passing. We are so regretful that we did not know of his sickness and did not visit him.
He was the finest person we have ever known.
With all his accolades and achievements he earned, his highest was that he was truly a Christian Gentleman!
Please call on us to provide any help with anything. It would be our honor!

Dana and I are so saddened to hear of Ernie’s passing and will have you and your family in our thoughts and prayers Elaine. We fondly recall that great smile and always friendly demeanor which Ernie exhibited throughout his life - all the way back to those days in Raleigh with his friendships and association with the Phi Tau brothers at NC State. Ernie was a guy who would do anything for anybody without being asked, a true “servant”. God bless him and the Creech family.
