Catherine Morrow "Cackie" Garner

October 25, 2023

Catherine Morrow “Cackie” Garner died peacefully at home in Mt. Pleasant, SC on October 25, 2023. Born in Charlotte, NC on September 19, 1990, Cackie is survived by her husband Charles Everet “Charlie” Garner, III. She is the daughter of Elizabeth Carver Warren and the late Fred T. Morrow III, and is the step-daughter of Hannibal Godwin “Hans” Warren.

Cackie lived her life to its fullest, always connecting with friends new and old. She could brighten a room with her energy and her smile, and had a true gift of bringing joy to others’ lives. After meeting Charlie at Selwyn Pub in Charlotte, the two quickly became inseparable; they married in June of 2021. He was the love of her life, and together they became each other’s greatest supporters. It was beautiful for family and friends to witness. Cackie was also highly successful in her business life, as a Realtor in her hometown of Charlotte and her adopted town of Mt. Pleasant/Charleston, SC. She loved living close to beaches and water, and continued to thrive after Cackie and Charlie (and their two dogs, Baker and Ovie) moved to the area in the spring of 2022.

Cackie was a 2009 graduate of Charlotte Country Day School, and a 2013 graduate of the University of Alabama, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha. She was a lifelong member at Myers Park Presbyterian Church. She is also survived by her sister Carver Morrow Draughn (Justin) of Charlotte; step-brothers Trey Warren (Sally) and Bob Warren (Alexis) of Charlotte, and their children; grandmother Ernestine “Bootie” Morrow; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her father Fred T. Morrow, III, her grandparents Betsy and George Carver, her grandfather Fred T. Morrow, Jr., and her aunt Elizabeth Morrow “Betsy” Elliott.

Her life will be celebrated with a service at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, 2501 Oxford Place, Charlotte NC on Monday October 30, 2023 at 2:00 PM with visitation following in Oxford Hall. Additionally, friends are gathering to remember Cackie at Selwyn Pub, 2801 Selwyn Avenue, Charlotte at 5.30 PM on Sunday October 29.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider donations to Kindermourn, 1320 Harding Place, Charlotte NC 28204.
