Hristoforos "Chris" Karagiannis

CHARLOTTE – "For You are the Resurrection, the Life, and the Repose of our departed brother, Hristoforos, O Christ our God, and to You we send up the Glory as to Your Father Who is from Everlasting, and Your All-Holy, Good, and Life-Giving Spirit, now and forever, and unto the ages of ages." Amen.

It is with sadness but hope in the Resurrection that we inform you our beloved brother in Christ, Hristoforos "Chris" Karagiannis, 81, passed unto the Lord on Friday, October 20, 2023.

Hristoforos is survived by his loving wife, Kostoula “Dina” Karagiannis (nee Sokos); his son, John Karagiannis and his wife, Eva (nee Raptis); his adored and beloved grandchildren, Christopher and Ian Karagiannis; his brother, Serafim Karagiannis and his wife, Zografia Karagiannis, and his sister, Aliki Prassas.  He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews Vaso (Demetri) Papakonstantinou, Theodora (George) Kampiziones, Kathy (George) Kanellakis, Katerina (Konstantinos) Papakostas, Katerina Taprantzis, Dimetra (Tim) Slawter, Jimmy Prassas, and their children.  Hristoforos was preceded in death by his father, Ioannis Karagiannis; his mother, Aikaterini Karagiannis (nee Nasopoulos); his sister, Eleni and her husband, Alekos Taprantzis, and his brother-in-law, Gus Prassas.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral.  The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Please join us in prayer for the repose of his soul, that he may dwell among the Spirits of the Righteous made perfect in faith and abide forever in the glorious light of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the embrace of God the Father, and the bliss of the Holy Spirit.
