Beverley Foster Liles
July 16, 2023
Beverley Foster Liles was ushered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 16, 2023.
A native Charlottean, Beverley was the daughter of Carolyn Peaseley Foster and Elbert Ellsworth Foster. She was a graduate of Myers Park High School, Greensboro College and UNC Chapel Hill where she earned her BS in Early Childhood Education.
Beverley taught second grade at Berryhill Elementary until starting a family. She re-entered the teaching profession at Olde Providence Elementary School after her two children began school.
Her love of people led to a successful career in insurance sales starting with Bankers Life and Casualty then as an independent broker for multiple insurers. She was highly revered in her profession and awarded many opportunities to travel the world.
Beverley had a gift for organizing charitable events as well as political fundraisers on the state and local level. Some of her volunteer work included Billy Graham Crusades and ministries, Charlotte Homeless Shelter, Charlotte Rescue Mission/Rebound, and motivational speaking in addition to many years supporting her children's interests at Charlotte Country Day.
Because of her love of Motown and especially Beach music, she entered shag dance competitions in younger days graduating to judging shag contests in her latter days. She also loved to host friends at her Lake Wylie "Sanctuary".
She was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution and the National Society Magna Charta Dames serving as past Chaplain of the NC Chapter.
Under the leadership of Pastor David Chadwick, Beverley served as Deacon at Forest Hill Church. She also started the Greeter ministry there and was asked to assist other churches organizing their own similar ministries.
Her greatest legacy was sharing her faith in our Lord Jesus Christ by encouraging others to seek their own personal relationship with Him. Hebrews 3:13

Our journey in life begins with our Mother! This special journey is privileged by the uniqueness of our union and bonds with her. My Mom and Beverly were close women of deep faith. I watched them celebrate Jesus by sharing their gifts HE bestowed upon them! We, as children often do not realize the impact this journey and special bond will take on our journey... Love says it all. Beverly was beautiful and loved her sisters and brothers in Christ. The Mission people knew her unique love for life and generosity in spirit. I vision her now with a tambourine, giggly bracelet & dancing with JOY. Home, at last! Blessings ?

Beverly was someone that impressed me. I was not in her circle of friends . .I met her in her quest for God. She was in-the-moment with where ever she was. Always friendly and warm to everyone around her, When talking with her she really listened. she exuded a warmth that let you know she really cared about what you were saying.. And she never hesitated to bring God into the conversation. Describing her as a people-person is a real understatement of who she was. I'd say she was more a larger-than-life person. The
-world would be a much better place if we could carry that spirit with US.. -
Beverley was a woman who openly shared her love of God from the moment I met her as a child. She loved her 2 beautiful children and I had the privilege of spending a lot of time in their home as a pre-teen and early teen. Lyn and I met at CCDS and had an instant connection. We shared a very close friendship and bond for the years we were together in school. I will always love and cherish this time of my life. I ran into Beverley at Forest Hill, Julie’s (she was an excellent dresser) and Harris Teeter over the years. She never seemed to age.
My mind knows she is with God and my heart hurts for her family. Peace Be With You all.
Love is all there is….. -
As Beverly would say, “Honey, gonna make the long short.”
A true blessing that came our way, Bev was an encourager and always eager to learn about the world of those around her.
Regardless of what was shared, she would always provide words of inspiration to encourage us to be one in Christ. Her true hero, a man nailed to the Cross was reflected in her very essence as she connected with so many.☝️
Her journey of life finished strong and with the final days, her prayers were on point with the anticipation of joining the one who gave her the words.✝️
A life well lived, may her memory live well within our hearts.
❤️U Bev & Family,
Mike & Mary Ann
