While I was living in Charlotte beginning in 2011, I attended St. Martin's Episcopal Church. I met Becky McNair there one day as the parishioners gathered outside after the service. She was gracious, friendly and hospitable to me, and being from Moultrie, Georgia, I felt a connection to her since she was from Augusta. Since Towill is part of her name, I think her family must have been part of the Hull, Towill, Norman, Barrett and Salley law firm in Augusta, which was known by that name in earlier years. Becky was an accomplished and lovely person. I was very disheartened to hear of her passing and know her husband and family will forever miss her.

Through many years at St. Martin's I worked, played and worshipped with Becky McNair. My name then was Cathy Hardin. Becky went to Sweet Briar; I went to Hollins College. While both of us came from similar backgrounds, we didn't mind "getting our hands dirty," as we attempted to improve the lives and fortunes of others in the community. I will always treasure my memories of dear Becky, wishing her family well at this time of grieving and forever. .

When meeting Becky for the first time, first impressions might be that she was pretty, nicely dressed, and polite. She was all of that but SO MUCH MORE! Becky was truly kind, gracious, and generous. She had real sympathy for others and that is where her generosity was rooted. She genuinely cared for people and will be missed by many. Condolences to the entire family.

Becky sounds like an amazing, thoughtful and generous woman. A real inspiration. It's so hard to lose our mommas. What a great generation. My thoughts and prayers are with the McNair family.
